Q. Why should I purchase my vacation from American Airlines Vacations?
A. We offer great value at competitive prices. All of our vacation elements are offered as components, so you can design the trip that suits your interests. You can earn AAdvantage® miles on your flight* and bonus miles for booking your trip on AAVacations.com. Rental cars and sightseeing activities are also available.

Q. When will my AAdvantage bonus miles for booking online be awarded?
A. AAdvantage bonus miles will be awarded to the first traveler's AAdvantage account for each booking six to eight weeks after travel is complete. You must enter your AAdvantage number when booking online.

Q. How many AAdvantage bonus miles will I earn by booking my vacation online at AAVacations.com?
A. You will earn 500 AAdvantage bonus miles for every booking made online at AAVacations.com.

Q. In the past, I earned 1,000 AAdvantage bonus miles every time I booked online at AAVacations.com. Did that change?
A. Yes. In the past, customers earned 1,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for each booking made online at AAVacations.com. Effective January 15, 2009, customers will earn 500 AAdvantage bonus miles for each booking made online at AAVacations.com

Q. If I made a booking online at AAVacations.com before January 15, 2009, but I haven't traveled yet, how many AAdvantage bonus miles will I earn?
A. You will earn 1,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for all travel booked and purchased online at AAVacations.com prior to January 15, 2009, even if you haven't yet traveled.

Q. Can I pay for my vacation with AAdvantage miles using multiple AAdvantage accounts?
A. Yes, please call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-321-2121 and one of our Reservation Specialists will assist you.

Q. If I pay for my vacation with AAdvantage miles, will I also earn the AAdvantage mile online booking bonus on that purchase?
A. No, if you pay for all or part of your vacation with AAdvantage miles, you will not earn AAdvantage bonus miles on that booking. On each booking, you can either pay with AAdvantage miles or you can earn AAdvantage miles - you can't do both.

Q. Why should I purchase the flight portion of my trip from American Airlines Vacations?
A. American Airlines Vacations offers special airfares that are only available when combined with our land components. These special fares are typically lower and more flexible than published fares generally available elsewhere and are also covered by the Cancellation and Change Waiver (Pre-Departure Protection), if you choose to include it with your package.

Q. Will I also have the option to purchase published fares?
A. Yes. We will provide you with many flight options for your trip. Occasionally, there may be published sale fares that are lower than the private fares and we will offer these flight options to you. Keep in mind that these published fares are non-refundable and are not covered by the Cancellation and Change Waiver. Also please note that some airfares may remain non-refundable even with the purchase of the waiver.

Q. What is the Cancellation and Change Waiver?
A. The Cancellation and Change Waiver will protect you in the event that your plans change. The waiver covers cancellations, for any reason, up until scheduled departure time. The waiver also covers revision fees. Restrictions may apply as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

Q. What are acceptable forms of payment?
A. We accept the following credit cards: American Express® Card, Discover®, Diners Club®, JCB, MasterCard®, and VISA®. When booking online, you may only use one of the credit cards listed above to pay for the entire cost of your trip. You can also use your AAdvantage® miles to pay for your vacation packages.

Q. What if my credit card billing address is outside the U.S., Canada or the Caribbean?
A. At this time, we only accept credit cards with billing addresses within the U.S., Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Q. What does the hotel star rating mean?
A. All hotel properties listed on our site have been organized into five categories, or ratings, to help you select hotels best suited to your needs.
A renowned luxury hotel offering a high standard of accommodations, in-room amenities, facilities and service.
An outstanding hotel offering a high degree of accommodations, in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel offering quality accommodations with a good selection of in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel providing a good value with modest accommodations, adequate in-room amenities, facilities and service.
A hotel offering basic budget accommodations that meet the needs of comfort while offering limited in-room amenities, facilities and service.

Q. How do I cancel my vacation booking?
A. To cancel your reservation, call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-321-2121 and one of our Reservation Specialists will assist you. Please note that cancellation penalties may apply.

Q. Can I use travel vouchers for American Airlines Vacations travel packages?
A. Travel vouchers can be used toward American Airlines and American Eagle flight portions of your trip. Although travel vouchers cannot be used for payment online, you can still earn AAdvantage bonus miles for booking online by purchasing the land portion of your vacation at AAVacations.com and then calling American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-321-2121 to use travel vouchers to pay for your flight.

A. Call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-321-2121 and one of our Reservation Specialists will be happy to make the correction for you.

Q. How do I make changes or updates to my vacation reservation (including room accommodations, add my AAdvantage number to my flight segments, changes to reservation, seat assignment)?
A. You can change hotel accommodations, add your AAdvantage number to your flight, update your reservation, change your seat assignment and more by calling one of our Reservation Specialists at 1-800-321-2121.

Q. How do I make a reservation for my infant or child under 2 years old?
A. If you are traveling with a child under the age of 2, please call one of our Reservations Specialists at 1-800-321-2121 for assistance.

Q. How do I make a multi-destination booking online?
A. Because of the complexity of reservations that involve visits to more than one destination, these types of bookings cannot be made online. For assistance with multiple destinations, please call one of our Reservations Specialists at 1-800-321-2121.

Q. Can I still request a brochure to be mailed to me?
A. AAVacations no longer produces printed brochures, but you can browse special offers in destinations around the world.

Q. If I have a problem booking my vacation on-line, who do I contact?
A. If you are having a problem booking your vacation online, call American Airlines Vacations at 1-800-321-2121 for assistance.

Q. How do I correct a problem with a vacation already completed or get assistance with a billing question?

Q. When will I receive my vacation documents?
A. American Airlines Vacations will mail land documents 21 days prior to departure. Air documents, if applicable, will be issued after final payment in the form of electronic tickets for most destinations. If air transportation is purchased, air and land documents may be sent separately.

Q. What if I have a problem while I am on my vacation?
A. Please call toll-free 1-800-901-9150 within the United States. If you are outside the United States, the phone number is included on the travel documents we sent you. We have Reservation Specialists standing by 24/7 to help if anything goes wrong or if you need assistance.

Q. What if I need a travel voucher for my vacation?
A. If your vacation requires a pre-paid travel voucher, it will be mailed to you 21 days prior to your departure date. If you have any questions, contact a Reservations Specialist at 1-800-321-2121.
