IXTAPA ZIHUATANEJO

With over 300 days of sunshine and a large biodiversity of jungles, mangroves, lagoons, and miles of tropical beaches, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo is a destination for the intrepid explorer and visitors looking for adventure, leisure or rest.

Located in southern Mexico in the state of Guerrero, this is an earthly paradise. Its adjacent bays, scooped out against the mountains of the Sierra Madre del Sur, give you two destinations in one getaway. The natural environment lends a host of experiences for each type of traveler, making your stay as romantic, adventurous, luxurious, or relaxing as you want.

Ixtapa features large resorts and all-inclusive offerings and access to two world-class golf courses and spas, a bike path that extends 25km long, and a yacht club. In the neighboring bay is Zihuatanejo, a unique little town that went from a peaceful fishermen’s village to a charming tourist destination with a big personality. Greet the fisherman after a long night at sea and buy the fresh catch of the day to serve up for dinner. Next, grab a bite to eat in a family-owned restaurant, go shopping for local handicrafts, or soak up the positive energy of the Zihua people while walking down the cobblestone streets.

Must-dos: whale-watching from December through March, longboard surfing on Saladita beach, deep sea fishing, birdwatching in Barra de Potosí, scuba diving in Morros de Potosi, or a foodie tour.
